I have always used Step 2 mailboxes and they have held up fairly well against the ohio winters and snowplows, but this rubbermaid box is useless if you live anywhere where it is going to be subject to snowplows throwing snow at it. I bought it in the fall of the year and when I put it together I could tell that it was not as sturdy as the step 2, but I put it up anyways. Low and behold the first time the snowplow went down the road the top of my mailbox was in the middle of my driveway. It rips the screw, yes only one screw, right out of the plastic and their rail system that they use doesn't work at all, poor design. For a company that is based out of northern ohio you would think that they would field test these, obviously not. If you live where you don't have snow it will probably be just fine but if you live where snowplows come down your road you might want to consider a different option.
